Local English teacher

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who has a true passion for education and has demonstrated experience as a good coach, mentor or tutor. As a local English Teacher you are central to your Students’ learning. Through providing a nurturing, fun and interactive learning environment in the Speaking Center and building relationships with Students, you have a unique opportunity to change their personal and professional futures.

 

Part of an education team of Teachers and Receptionists who work with and report to the Service Manager, you’ll work in synergy with the Sales team to provide a premium educational experience to your Students that is personalized and meets each individual’s needs. The PT’s objective is to ensure Students learn effectively and reach their personal goals. Each Student will need varying levels of support, approaches, and teaching techniques to maximize their learning. This is what will require you to be a true people person who can adapt to and anticipate each Student’s needs and inspire them to succeed. The exceptional Service and care you provide will lead to renewals and referrals and the strengthening of the Wall Street English brand.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Includes the following:

1. Drive student progress by providing on going and consistent support, advice, coaching and feedback
2. Understand each individual learner’s psychology and tailor your teaching skills accordingly to provide guidance to students that is personalized to their particular needs
3. Develop strong relationships both on-line and in person to build on trust and genuine care with a diverse student community
4. Promote the Wall Street English Method and an all English Environment in consistent and creative ways
5. Keep up to date and abreast of student progress in order to pass on relevant information to the Service and Sales teams and take necessary actions
6. Be the speaking center’s eyes and ears by proactively spotting and reading signs from students in order to put in place the right supportive actions

Local English Teachers work primarily in the Speaking Center, where they create an interactive, friendly and supportive student centered learning environment to ensure Students’ progress successfully.

Specific teaching duties include:

1. Promote and teach by applying the Wall Street English method in the Speaking Center to ensure Student success and positively influence ongoing engagement
2. Teach introductory First and Lessons to new Students in order to explain how studying works at WSE and guarantee educational control
3. Proactively guide Students through their course in the Speaking Center
4. Provide personalized feedback, coaching and support through Advising Sessions to ensure Students reach their learning goals
5. Provide extra special support and attention during a Student’s first Level
6. Liaise with Service and Sales team members to provide feedback on Students’ progress and concerns
7. Assist and guide students in their learning and ensure they are able to engage with the local and global community of Students through Social Media
8. Celebrate Students’ milestones and success in-center and on-line
9. Together with the Reception team, manage Student progress through booking Classes
10. Broadcast and openly celebrate student milestones and success both within the center as well as online through our various digital channels
11. Administer results of First Lessons, and Advising Sessions in the local CRM and Staff Tools
12. Report any issues with hardware and software in the Speaking Center to your Service Manager to ensure swift resolution
13. Attend skills development seminars and Service and General staff meetings
14. Cover reception as and when required

Minimum requirements:

• Post Threshold Level of English or CEFR level C1
• University degree or in final year of studies of an English language degree
