REPORTS TO POSITION TITLE:

AfME Regional GCO Lead

POSITION SUMMARY
Leads GCO (Global Commercial Operations) Organization in market cluster (North Africa) and partners with above-market GCO Service Delivery, GCO Functional Leaders, and Global CoEs to effectively manage panGCO service delivery and deliver on business priorities in their cluster. Operates effectively within approved budgets, SLAs and compliance requirements. Embeded in the Cluster Leadership Team as primary GCO contact and liaison for BU Category Leaders, Country Managers and Cluster Leads to understand cluster business strategy and context. Embedded in the AfME Regional GCO LT and uses knowledge of cluster priorities to anticipate future needs and inform GCO strategy.

Client Services

• Execute results across a complex multi-layer organizational matrix and a changing external environment.
• Lead panGCO, “glocal” approaches and initiatives to meet business needs at lower cost and better quality.
• GCO single point of contact to BU Cluster Leadership (CLs, CMs, Cat Leads).
• Understand cluster business strategy / context and translate them into relevant GCO services and initiatives.
• Anticipate future business needs and forecast GCO service volumes for the cluster.
• Establish SLAs with business leaders and ensure solutions / services from GCO providers are fulfilled.

Internal Processes and Tools

• Partner with above-market GCO functional leaders to establish shared performance measures and targets.
• Collaborate with above-market service delivery and regional GCO functional leaders to deploy policies, processes, systems and tools needed to support flawless execution of market operations.
• Manage vendors at the market level as needed through close partnership with procurement and CoEs.
• Drive continuous improvement in operations in collaboration with Service Delivery and relevant teams.
• Partner with GCO stakeholders to define metrics, collect data, demonstrate value and identify opportunities.

Organization and Talent Development

• Lead the cluster GCO organization and manage team performance.
• Develop, recruit and retain talent and equip them with knowledge and skills needed to perform effectively.
• Drive a One-GCO, operational excellence culture.

Financials

• Accountable for the overall GCO Budget and LEs within their cluster.
• Actively participate in GCO and Business Operating Plan development for cluster and AfME region

Communications and Governance

• Proactively engage with Cluster Business Leaders to ensure aligned strategies, plans and activities.
• Foster collaborative relationships across Pfizer and with external partners to influence strategic direction.
• Collaborate with business partners, Above-market service delivery and regional GCO functional leaders to prioritize needs, manage demand and provide market insights.
• Effective stakeholder and communication management to achieve business objectives.

Key performance measures:

• Successful implementation of Key Projects / Solution that deliver agreed business outcomes
• Evidence of increasing maturity levels in cluster GCO capabilities and operations
• GCO Budget management and achievement of market financial targets
• Delivery of agreed annual partner plans (SLAs) for in-scope GCO services
• Effective engagement with key stakeholders as evidenced by signoff on agreed deliverables
• Client Satisfaction survey and other feedback from key stakeholders on value provided to business
• Compliant GCO operations as evidenced by “GOOD” audit ratings in GCO areas

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

• Provide the primary groups or key positions that this position will have interaction with as a regular part of the position responsibilities (i.e. key stakeholders). Include any external interactions as appropriate.
• Regional GCO Lead, GCO Functional Leaders and Above-market Service Delivery, Cluster Business Leaders, Other Cluster/Market stakholders and Enabling Partners

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• BA or BSc Required; MBA or equivalent Master’s level education preferred
• 10+ years of relevant experience including team leadership experience in senior management roles
• Understanding of target cluster’s business and key markets
• Experience leading through matrix, virtual and geographically distributed teams
• Evidence of establishing and growing highly engaged teams
• Evidence of driving change with proven ability to align across functional groups to achieve results
• Evidence of a structured approach to building and evolving commercial operations

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrated business acumen, strategic thinking, insight and understanding of health care space
• Strong project management skills; ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks effectively
• Managerial courage with ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a professional manner
• Ability to effectively communicate complex information across all levels of the organization
• Ability to manage risk and balance short term financial priorities and long term strategic vision
• Ability to manage team dynamics in a matrix environment to ensure achievement of business objectvies
• Demonstrated analytical and financial management skills
• Experience in change leadership and change management
• Ability to measure and assess business outcomes of delivered programs
