BEDER is currently recruiting for the position of Junior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for the association’s Joussour programme which aims to strengthen the resilience of young people and increase social cohesion in disaffected communities.

Job description
 
The Junior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be embedded in the Joussour programme team and will work in close coordination with various internal and external stakeholders such as the Programme Manager and government partners. The Junior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will specifically support the programme’s Senior Technical Advisor in the implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities.
 
The Junior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer’s role is to assist the Senior Technical Advisor by providing early detailed information on the progress of Joussour activities and by contributing to the evaluation of the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and impact of the activities. Although based in Tunis, the Junior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is therefore required to attend and observe programme events, interact with a wide range of project stakeholders, frequently travel to different locations in the Greater Tunis and other regions in Tunisia to conduct field visits.
 
The Junior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will preferably have some experience in the monitoring and evaluation of international development programmes but will be provided opportunities for growth and learning.

Responsibilities of the Junior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
 
The Junior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will support the Senior Technical Advisor in the implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities.
 
Specifically, they will:
 

  • Monitor and report to the Senior Technical Advisor on implementation of the activities in line with research and M&E framework and guidance issued by the Senior Technical Advisor;
  • Conduct interviews and focus group discussions with stakeholders and beneficiaries;
  • Collect, code, organise, and share project-generated data;
  • Contribute to data analysis in collaboration with the Senior Technical Advisor;
  • Follow-up on M&E findings to ensure adjustments are made as required;
  • Report weekly to the Senior Technical Advisor;
  • Assist in the development of work plans and tools such as a risk log and stakeholder map, and keep them updated;
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 Critères d’éligibilité

  •  Bachelor (Licence universitaire) in international relations, political science, social science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  •  Professional experience or volunteering experience in development or community-based projects as part of local NGOs or donor-funded programmes.
  •  Eager to learn;
  •  Able to work autonomously and in teams;
  •  Strong interpersonal skills;
  •  Experience working with youth;
  •  Experience conducting qualitative and/or quantitative research;
  •  Excellent organisational skills;
  •  Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
  •  Excellent computer skills, including MS Office;
  •  Excellent writing skills;
  •  Fluency in oral and written English, Arabic and French.
