- Job Title: Technology Manager
- Reports to: Director of Operations
- Supervises: Technology Team, Database Administrator, and Data Analyst.

- The Technology Manager reports to the Director of Operations. S/He is responsible for managing the daily operations of ACST’s technology as well as ensure the effective operations of technology in support of the faculty, staff, and administration.
- This includes : Managing the infrastructure, short-and long-term planning, purchasing, end-user support and training, vendors and outside services management and data management. The successful candidate has excellent written and verbal communications skills, is highly organized, and can successfully manage multiple projects at once. S/He should have experience supporting technology in an educational environment but also be comfortable working with all departments in a school environment including admissions, marketing, academics, Finance, and operations, and should understand these departments processes, workflows, norms, and goals.
- Minimum qualifications and experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Four plus years working in a school technology department.
- Organized self-starter who enjoys assisting faculty and students with their learning.
- Experience with database, network administration (including wireless and firewalls), G Suite for Education administration, information technology resources and services is important.
- Strong familiarity with typical school hardware (desktops, laptops, printers, interactive projectors) and typical software (Apple platform, G Suite including Drive, docs, Sheets and Slides, Microsoft Suite, Web-based applications, licensing, database, etc.)
- Preferred Qualifications and skills
- Master’s degree in information technology
- ITIL certified.
- A good working knowledge of systems specifically Aruba, Fortinet, MacOS, iPadOS, Windows OS, Azure, JAMF, and Classlink Identify Management.
- Professional certifications
Job Responsibilities:

- Oversee, support, and supervise staff for The configuration, installation, maintenance, and ongoing support of the school’s network infrastructure including:
- o Physical and virtual servers (Windows, Linux, VMware)
- o Network devices such as firewalls, switches, and wireless access points
- o All software services such as DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, File and Print Services
- o ACST’s Identity Ecosystem which includes Classlink, G-Suite for Education and Active Directory systems, including user management, security, training, and support.
- o Vendor management to ensure proper operations.
- o ACST’s Student Information System (PowerSchool) by monitoring Database administrator proper deployment of yearly admissions and re-enrollment cycles, reports and transcripts, scheduling, and fundraising.
- o ACST’s website (Final site)
- o Installation, support, and training of all classroom AV technology such as interactive projectors, Apple TVs, speakers, and other peripherals.
- o Networks setup and operation (which sometimes occur outside of normal working hours).
- o Administration of various other systems such as our MDM platform, Papercut Printer Server, and Anti-Virus software.
- Liaise with Teaching and learning to support efficient and effective use of technology in learning.
- Support all users across all departments in day-to-day operations.
- Ensure Plan, deploy and support new services as needed.
- Work with various departments to ensure proper data entry and “cleanliness” of data.
- Ongoing training for new staff, as for existing staff as new features are released.
- Planning, purchasing, deployment, maintenance, training, and support of all faculty, staff, and students on admin desktops, laptops, and tablets.
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date and complete documentation of the school network, hardware, servers, systems, and recovery processes.
- Long- and short-term planning of technology purchases, updates, and system maintenance, including the creation and implementation of a multi-year technology plan.
- Support security with the management of:
- o keycard and door access systems
- o security cameras and DVR
- Develop and maintain a plan for data security, network disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Supporting families in their use of the ACST data systems such as the website and
- PowerSchool
- This position requires you to be around children your whole shift, or at least most of it, so an affection for children is important.
- Oversee, support, and supervise staff for The configuration, installation, maintenance, and ongoing support of the school’s network infrastructure including:
- Hours: 7:30 am to 3:30 pm; with occasional evenings when required
- Days: Monday – Friday; with occasional weekends when required
