Alert is looking for a junior consultant expert in sociology or political science. The expert will undertake a quantitative research on youth and urban violence in popular areas of greater Tunis.
This consultancy comes within the framework of implementing a project that aims to strengthen the democratic transition in the country, through the promotion of human rights, the fight against institutional, physical and symbolic violence as well as gender violence and all other inhuman treatment perpetrated against young adults between the ages of 18 and 34 living in poor areas of Greater Tunis. The project covers the following neighbourhoods: Ettadhamen and Douar Hicher. For a duration of 2 years, this project will implement activities centralized around quantitative and qualitative research component as well as advocacy and dialogue component.
The consultancy necessitates participation in field research, report writing, and dissemination activities arranged by Alert Tunisia. The consultant needs to be a holder of an advanced degree in social sciences. Having experience in conducting research on issues related to working class suburbs, youth and urban violence is necessary as well as fluency in written and spoken Arabic and French.
