Summary:

The U.S. Mission in Tunis, Tunisia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Investigator with Legal Attaché Office.

The work schedule for this position is Full Time (40 hours per week)

 


Supervisory Position:No

Duties:The incumbent requires the FSN to operate as an investigator who will support Legal Attaché personnel assigned to the mission in Tunis, Tunisia.  The position requires the FSN to deal with some complex maters as they may impact upon the Legal Attaché office in Tunisia.  This position is being created to intensify the investigative efforts and enhance the cooperative liaison established with host country law enforcement entities through interaction between theLegal Attaché Office staff, namely the FSN Investigator, and our official counterparts.  This position will serve as a mechanism for catapulting investigative initiatives, improving lead response time and bridging the cultural gaps that exist between agencies. Given the limited language skills of term and TDY personnel, the FSN will be required to provide critical and constant guidance to Bureau personnel during interactions with host nation personnel.

Qualifications and Evaluations

EDUCATION:Completion of High School level is required.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:3 years’ prior investigative experience with U.S. or Tunisian Law Enforcement, Military, or Security Agencies is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

A working knowledge of the Tunisian criminal justice system.  Knowledge of the country of Tunisia and surrounding regions.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGELevel IV – Verbal and written language ability in French. Good working knowledge of English (Level III), fluent Arabic (Level V). (This will be tested).

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to maintain extensive contacts with members of the American and Tunisian Governments.  Ability to exercise initiative and resourcefulness in obtaining information and evidence.  The individual must be able to conduct liaison/investigations and provide guidance to U.S. and Tunisian personnel.  Must have the ability to draft reports in the English language and have typing and computer skills.  Computer skills must include Microsoft Word.  Must have the ability to safely operate motor vehicles. Must possess a valid local driver’s license.  In addition, the individual must be in excellent physical condition in order to travel throughout the country. Must represent the FBI in a highly professional manner, to include behavior, speech, and dress.

Qualifications:  All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
